Unity Family Church Leadership
Unity Family Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Curtis & Debora Kimbrough
Curtis & Debora Kimbrough were called by God to serve as Unity Family Church's Lead Pastors in October 2010 with first service held on February 8, 2011. Prior to that, Curtis served as the Assistant Pastor to his father-in-law, Bishop A.A. Wells for two years at Vancouver Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Vancouver, Washington.
The attributes that best describe Curtis Kimbrough as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development and counseling. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Unity Family Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. Curtis Kimbrough takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending the first hours of his day focused on Bible study.
They both graduated from George Fox University in 1987 & 1988: Curtis with a dual degree in Sociology/Social Services and Debora with a degree in Computer Information Science and minor in Accounting. They later received an Associate of Arts Degree in Theology from A.L. Hardy Academy of Theology. Curtis is an author who published his first book in 1991 called How I Got Over detailing his journey from inadequacies and shame to self-confidence and success through sports, academics and faith.
In 2010 Debora released her first CD - Stepping Into My Destiny. Debora is a loving, committed, charismatic leader with a strong passion for helping others walk into their destiny by experiencing the love and truth of God’s word. She's a true worshipper at heart. In her spare time she enjoys reading, singing, swimming, and spending time with her family.
They were happily married in 1987 and blessed with 4 amazing children: Curtis Jr. (not pictured), Adolph, Simone and Tiauna and 5 grandchildren.
Pastor David Avalos was appointed as Unity Family Church's Associate Pastor in 2015. He and his wife Alma Avalos have 5 children: Adrian, Daisy, Anthony, Johnny and Jessie. David has a passion for leading and discipling believers into a deeper walk with Christ through God's Word. In his spare time, Pastor David enjoys reading, coffee, and spending time with his family.
